Daily Sun headlines inspire new slate of Mzansi Magic movies

Mzansi MagicThe Daily Sun Movies will broadcast every Friday, beginning with Finding My Way Home on the March 6 at 19:30. My 4-5 Just Sleeps, Quantum of Terror and lastly Ke Manga will then follow this movie.

“This is another milestone in Mzansi Magic’s commitment to telling stories that are relevant to the lives of our viewers,” says Nkateko Mabaso, Director for Local Interest Channels at M-Net.

“We believe that the new Daily Sun Movies slot will provide the kind of entertainment that our viewers want on a Friday night – emotional, shocking, funny, dramatic, supernatural and sensational stories that grip the imagination.”

Although not based on any factual Daily Sun stories, these movies take artistic inspiration from the attention-grabbing headlines that draws million of readers to the tabloid.

Finding My Way Home presents an emotional narrative, about the disappearance of a young boy, Sipho Dlomo – and his mother’s search for closure.  My 4-5 Just Sleeps puts the playa in the spotlight through the story of a womanising club manager who believes that he needs the help of muti to keep himself masculine – and discovers the hard truth about what real love and passion is.

Quantum of Terror is nail-biting stuff – the story of a shadowy organisation that uses a Quantum taxi to kidnap people and then use their bodies for muthi. Ke Manga, finally, tells the story of a loyal wife who has had enough of her cheating husband’s ways, and decides to take matters into her own hands.

Mzansi Magic’s Daily Sun movies add to the channel’s impressive array of original content that delivers proudly South African entertainment to viewers.
