Dawn Thandeka King lands starring role on Mzansi Magic’s ‘Lockdown’

Dawn Thandeka King has just landed another TV gig!

The talented Uzalo actress is set to star in an upcoming Mzansi Magic’s new breakout prison series Lockdown.

Dawn will be playing a “‘tough female inmates’ named Ross O’Malley, a leader who wants nothing more than to gain her freedom so that she can become a good and present mother to the daughter she left on the outside.”

The series also stars Zola Nombona as a young woman named Monde who left the cocoon of her small town life to pursue fame and fortune in the dazzling lights of Egoliwood. Instead, what she got was infamy, thanks to her wily money-hungry boyfriend/producer Zakes (played by Luxolo Ndabeni), who introduced her to a notorious lifestyle that landed her in jail.

Lockdown is produced by Black Brain production and other stars include Lorcia Cooper as Tyson, Nomsa Buthelezi as Slenda, Slindile Nodangala as Beauty, Mthunzi Ntoyi as Njabulo, Lindiwe Ndlovu as Sharon.

Mark your calendars – Lockdown premieres on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) in January 2017.
