Joyce Ledwaba

Joyce LedwabaJoyce ”MaJoy” Ledwaba was born on January 24, 1964 in Ga-Madiba, Mokopane, Limpopo. MaJoy is a South African actress, dancer, singer and voice artist.


She had role in numerous television dramas which include In The Name Of Love (1994) as Motlalepule, Dinnete Tsa Bophelo (1995) as Kholofelo, Emzini We Nzizwe (1996)

Muvhango (1997), Defenning Silence (1997), Ke Bona Boloi (2000) as Mmalaka and Back Stage (2003). Majoy is best known for her supporting role on SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam as Joyce Maputla.


Majoy films she appeared include, Goodman in Africa (1994) and Beat the Drum (2005).


MaJoy best known for her hit album, Modidi which she released under Sheer Sound.


Majoy appeared on advertisement such as Joko Tea (1998) and Pick ‘n Pay (1998).


Majoy with her album “Sereto” won her the Best Sepedi Album at the 2012 South African Traditional Music Achievement Awards (SATMA). She also won Best female artist at the SATMA awards in 2007 with her song “Moloi” from her Moferefere album.
