The three judges are tasked with guiding the participating acapella groups through a rigorous nine week selection process, leading to a star-studded live finale at which the winning group will be selected via a public vote.
HHP says, “There is no show like this on South African television. Its tag line is ‘Siyayijika lento’, and we indeed are. The caliber of acapella acts on the show is mind blowing. I’m so glad I was asked to judge this season. I love acapella. I also love my fellow judges. All of them have years of experience under their (figure) belt.”
“I’m so thrilled to have the privilege of watching new talent in the acapella world being unearthed. I hope that the youth will be inspired to make use of their God-given talents to grow and diversify the South African music industry,” says Zolani Mahola.
In the meantime, the show’s nation-wide auditions process has produced the Top 10, made of some of the nations’ most vibrant and enterprising acapella groups. Mzansi Fo Sho viewers were introduced to five of them during the debut episode on Sunday, 3 May at 18:00. The next five will be on display in the second episode of the show, airing on Sunday, 10 May.
“The level of talent on the show is unprecedented in South African television history. The vocal skills of the contestants will delight young and old,” says series producer, Bruce Townsend.
The Sing Off SA offers the winning group a rare opportunity to walk away with a R250 000 cash prize and a Sony recording contract.
The show is presented by popular television presenter, actress and singer, Noluthando Nolly Meje.
