Internationally renowned actress Leleti Khumalo, known for her leading roles in the movie and stage play Sarafina and Yesterday, which was nominated in the 2005 Academy awards for the Best Foreign Language film has been confirmed as one of the official guest to attend the 2015 Zanzibar International Film Festival in July.
Zuku is very excited to have Leleti Khumalo as the official guest and be part of this milestone in the evolution of the film industry. Khumalo was a force to be reckoned with as a black South African actress during apartheid era and has remained a powerhouse and Icon in the film and television industry, says Zuku TV director Mandy Roger. ZIFF will be showing the film Sarafina as part of their line up in recognition of the South African film industry and celebrate Africa’s talents in film.

ZIFF 2015 will take place between Saturday, 18 and Sunday, 26 July in Stonetown. It is the longest running film festival in East Africa, with global credibility and instant Pan-African recognition. As in previous years, ZIFF will welcome dozens of professional and aspiring film directors, producers from across Africa and the world for eight days of film, music and cultural celebration.
