South African artist and producer Lil Trix, real name, Zunaid Lombard, has released his brand new single titled Hard. Born and raised in the South of Johannesburg, Lil Trix is no newcomer to the South African music scene.
The artist has eight mixed tapes under his belt, which were released between 2009 and 2013.
At the age of 11, Trix would often use downloadable instrumentals and recorded his music using only a Nintendo Wii microphone. He trained himself to use various digital audio workstations until he was eventually practicing his own production using a Casio keyboard that was nearly thrown away after being owned by his younger sister.
Trix has been featured on 5FM’s Power Nights chart for Trouble, which featured and was produced by Lil Trix. The song reached number one status in March 2012.
In March 2013, Lil Trix released his eighth mixtape, Colour Me Bad. The mixtape was once again self-produced and self-mixed and featured the singles, Red, Black & White, OULIK, Promises and Dreams Do Come True. The mixtape featured guest appearances from Gigi LaMayne, Grace, Dro Hefner the Jew, Remmix, Ali Mirza, E.Li, Lwansta and Mariechan of the group, Jamali.
In 2014, Lil Trix appeared alongside Slikour, one of the founding members of the record breaking South African hip-hop group, Skwatta Kamp, on SABC1’s LiveAmp and SkyRoomLive.
