Power Couple auditions kick off on the day of love!

M-Net’s brand new reality format Power Couple has already created a huge buzz all over the country, and auditions will be kicking off this weekend in the Mother City – on the international day of love, Valentine’s Day!

If you want to become South Africa’s first Power Couple and live in the Western Cape area, head to the Bay Hotel in Camps Bay this Saturday, 14 February to audition for the show. To make the experience a special one, M-Net will have romantic photo booths on site, where you can take instant pictures of yourself with your partner so that you can take home a special Valentine’s Day memento after your audition. Moreover, the Power Couple photo booths will also have a special name generator, which will combine your name with your partner’s – a la Brangelina!

Power Couple is a brand new reality show that will test the relationship of eight couples, who will move into a luxurious villa somewhere in Cape Town. These couples will compete in thrilling, nerve-wracking challenges, during which they have to illustrate how much they know, trust or love their partners. Based on the outcome of these tasks, two couples will be up for elimination each week and it will be up to the other couples in the villa to decide whom they would like to keep in the game.

The tough, spectacular challenges – which will sometimes include high-adrenaline action adventures – will allow the couples to accumulate thousands of Rands by betting on whether their loved one will be able to complete a task, without knowing how much their partner has invested in their ability to succeed. If they get it right, the money will be added to their kitty – but if the partner fails, the money will be subtracted from the amount they carry through to the end of the show.

Couples could win well over a Million Rand, but becoming SA’s first Power Couple will be about more than being brave and courageous in the challenges. They’ll have to use their EQ and IQ to ensure that the other couples don’t eliminate them, while strategising to stay ahead of the others at all times.

Once auditions are wrapped in Cape Town, the next stop is Durban on 18 February at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, followed by the conclusion of auditions in Jozi at the Indaba Hotel on 28 February.

So who is eligible to enter, and what will the producers be looking for? Contestants have to be older than 21 and South African citizens, willing to do crazy and wild things for love. The Power Couple producers will be looking for diverse, interesting and outgoing people who believe that they’re a winning pair – whether they’ve been married for ages or are at the start of a lifetime together.
