Mafikeng student makes it to finals in reality show ‘One-Day Leader’

North-West University student, Natasha Sesing, was chosen as one of the six finalists in the SABC 1 Reality Show, “One-Day Leader”.

She is currently a 4th year Bachelor of Social Work student at the Mafikeng Campus and originates from Shaleng village in Taung and the first contestant from the North West Province to make it to the finals.

During the show, finalists will participate as teams performing tasks every week with the aim of trying to come up with solutions to some of the most prevalent socio-economic challenges in the South African context.

The show boasts coverage in countries such as Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Botswana, and Lesotho, with an estimated total viewership of 5 million.

Natasha is also involved at the Mahikeng Innovation Hub as a project manager, serves as Administrator of Christ love in Mahikeng and represented South Africa in the 2nd Annual Global Peace Conference in Turkey in 2014.

Furthermore, she contributed to the 2014 North West State of the Province Address (SOPA) titled Saamtrek Saamwerk.

Having been shortlisted from five thousand applicants and having undergone further preliminary auditions prior to landing a spot in the coveted top 6 finalists, Natasha shows no sign of slowing down her momentum.

Her vision for South Africa entails seeing innovative enterprise development and education as core poverty reduction strategies.
