Marilyn Sekgapane is the latest contestant that was eliminated on last night’s (April 5) episode of BET’s entertaining reality show Top Actor Africa.
Marilyn shocked her fellow competitors with a surprise exit from the dramatic reality series.
This week celebrity couple Kerusha Kisten and Sans Moonsamy coached the contestants through the latest challenge. “Comedy Improv” proved to be unfamiliar territory for the remaining hopefuls, bringing Marilyn’s chances of progressing to the next stage to a dead end, and allowing Jesse Suntele the chance to finally stand out in the show.
The result came as a shock to all, as the consensus appeared to be that Uriel would be jetting off home to Nigeria.
Commented Marilyn, “Being on Top Actor Africa was an amazing opportunity, but it was time for my journey to end. The show has taught me a great deal about the industry and what being an artist entails. It taught me how tenacious I am, and proved that fear bears no fruit.
The still-confident actress concludes, “I would love getting a leading role in a soapie, and I plan on venturing into radio and tackling the music industry”.
Fighting to stay in Top Actor Africa until the end are the remaining 7 up-and-coming thespians: Alex Khayo (Kenya), Tobechi Nneji (Nigeria), Uriel Oputa (Nigeria), Ifeanyi Dike (Nigeria), Shamilla Miller (South Africa), Jesse Suntele (South Africa) and Farrell Drew (South Africa).
FYI: Top Actor Africa is hosted by South African actress Zikhona Sodlaka.
Be sure to tune on Top Actor Africa @ 19:30 every Tuesday on BET (DStv channel 129)
