National Children’s Theatre (NCT) is seeking 4 young, fresh, energetic graduates who are looking to build their experience as directors.
NCT is providing an opportunity to apply for aspiring young directors to gain experience under the mentorship of the CEO and Artistic Director of NCT.
Applications are hereby invited to a short-term contract position as a NACTIES Junior Director.
NCT has an established performance group for children (ages 7-17) who can sing, dance and act, called NACTIES. Each director will be required to direct a one-act production with a group of 5-7 Nacties.
If you have a post graduate degree or diploma in drama/musical theatre/directing and are passionate about children and nurturing young talent, please submit a CV and short motivation to firstname.lastname@example.org
Successful candidates will be required to attend pre-production meetings. The NACTIES classes will run every Saturday from 12:30–14:30 during the school term beginning Saturday 23 January 2016. The final product will be showcased in our box theatre at the end of the term, and parents, public and press will be invited to attend. If successful, we may add additional public performances.
Please note that this is a learning opportunity, similar to an internship, and may result in further work in the future.
Applications should be received by no later than Wednesday 23 December 2015. Successful applicants will be advised of an interview. If you do not hear from us by 15 January 2016, consider your application as unsuccessful.
Venue: National Children’s Theatre, 3 Junction Avenue, Parktown, Johannesburg
