SABC Education and SABC1 just announced its premier mid-morning youth talk show ‘SHIFT‘ is renewed for a new season and it will return to our small screens for February 8th, 2016.
The one hour show will be broadcasted live for 52 weeks every Monday and Tuesday between 11h00 – 12h00 and is hosted by the dynamic duo Kamo Bombe and Aaron Moloisi.
SHIFT was lauched 11 years ago and the previous season of the show was dominating the mid-morning time slot across all channels and continues to grow in popularity with its current viewership reaching 1.3 million viewers.
“SHIFT through its diverse content range has offered its loyal viewers access to information to improve the quality of their lives, families & communities. Audiences can look forward to another exciting season, all new topics and still highly interactive. SHIFT is a show of great public value and reflects well on the brand on SABC Education and SABC1” says Surekha Singh, commissioning editor at SABC Education.
The new season of SHIFT continues to give a voice to the youth highlighting their issues by featuring guests who offer information, tips and advice to help transform their lives. Another competitive advantage of the show is that it offers fantastic life changing prizes such as study bursaries and spending vouchers.
The show is anchored around the slogan “Shifting Mind-sets and changing lives”. SHIFT is live and interactive, allowing viewers to participate in discussions, by calling in or commenting on social media about the stories of the day. The show’s website offers information about future shows, events and job opportunities. Viewers who have missed out on any broadcast can catch up with weekly conversations on YouTube.
Kamo Bombe says “SHIFT is popular because our viewers come to us with their problems and we do our best to help them solve their problems”.
Aaron Moloisi, vibrant presenter of SHIFT, says “As far as I know, SHIFT is the only show on the African continent that broadcasts in 13 languages all at the same time. Wow!”
Watch SHIFT on SABC1 every Monday and Tuesday from 11h00 – 12h00 with repeats at 23h00 – 00h00.
