This week My Story focuses on DJ Fresh

dj_freshHe was bullied as a young boy for being overweight, found a love for music early on, and defied his parents’ wishes for him to attend law school. This week on My Story viewers get to know DJ Fresh.

He changed the music landscape in South Africa when he moved here from his native Botswana as a young DJ and has become household name through his work.

In frank discussions with Fresh, his family, as well as some of his closest colleagues such as DJ Euphonik and Oskido, viewers will gain a first-hand account of his struggles in the early days, and see how his career shot to stardom with the launch of popular radio station YFM.

Fresh opens up about how he dealt with the backlash of his decision to move from YFM to 5FM, and how, throughout it all, he has managed to remain humble – whether he’s talking to fans on his daily breakfast show, or playing to packed crowds in Ibiza.
