It’s finally here – the season two premiere of Tjovitjo!
Season 1 ended on a tragic note with Ma’ Tjovitjo never winning a single dance competition, and Mandisa (Lali Dangazele) attempting abortion. The conflict between Bra Terror (Rapulana Seiphemo) and Mafred (Warren Masemola) has left the community of Tjovitjo in paralysis.
The dancers can hardly bear life without dance. But even worse, ordinary people can’t deal with this burden, which leads to even worse poverty in Tjovitjo.
Mojantji, the illegal mining syndicate kingpin, steps into the desperate situation, to prey on poor and desperate young men along with some of the dancers. This fuels the already rampant war by introducing a third participant in the mix when Mojantji goes after both Mafred and Bra Terror.
Finally when the war comes to an end, it’s time to find healing and redemption. Winning the first biggest competition after the war will help with the healing. But will Ma’ Tjovitjo win this time around?
Tjovitjo airs TONIGHT, February 11 @ 8PM on SABC1.
